UNDP Moldova Mission Statement

The United Nations Development Programme ( UNDP) is the UN’s global development network, advocating for change and connecting countries to knowledge, experience and resources to help people build a better life. We are on the ground in 166 countries, working with them on their own solutions to global and national development challenges. As they develop local capacity, they draw on the people of UNDP and our wide range of partners.

UNDP helps developing countries attract and use aid effectively. In all our activities, we encourage the protection of human rights and the empowerment of women.

Active in Moldova since 1992, shortly after the country joined the extensive United Nations family, UNDP works tirelessly through its projects for the eradication of poverty and for sustainable development.

The key objective of UNDP in the Republic of Moldova is to help the country attain its Millennium Development Goals. To this end, we provide sound policy advice and efficient programme implementation services.

Drawing on its own expertise and a wide range of partners - Government, donors, private sector and civil society – UNDP Moldova seeks to help Moldovans work out effective solutions to global and national development challenges. We focus on poverty reduction and good governance and strive for the protection of human rights and the empowerment of women.

Acting as a catalyst for national institution building and efficient policy development, UNDP Moldova develops local capacities by mobilizing knowledge, experience and resources from all over the world. We help Moldova make effective use of the international development assistance it receives.
